Question 1 (Age)

My first question was to find out the average age of my target audience, so i know who to make my music video appeal to more.

It is clear from my results that the majority of my target audience are young teenagers and young adults. This means I will consider the types of clothing to that will appeal to my target audience, more up to date and stylish clothing.

The most picked option was only just £11,000- £19,999, which has suprised me how close all the options are, behind this was a tie between Under £10,000, £20,000-£29,000 and £30,000- £39,000.

It is clear from the results that the majority of my audience are going to be female, this is where I should consider the protagonist, and what she wears. I will represent her as the typical teenager.

The majority of my audience has only completed GCSE's. This does not change the way I will need my music video, as the protagonist's have only completed GCSE's.

The majority of my audience went for Pop, which isn't shocking because the stereotypical music genre for teenagers is pop. What is surprising is that 2nd popular (not far behind) is Alternative. My genre is Indie Pop, which 7 people liked, hopefully they will enjoy my song.

Question 2 (Highest Earner)

Question 3 (Gender)

This question is to find what the gender is of my audience, so I can ideally choose my protagonist based on the option and the clothing they're wearing.

Question 4 (Highest level of education)

This question to help me find out the intelligence of my audience and how much education they have completed.

Question 5 (Favourite Genre of Music)

This question is to find out what genre of music is my audience's favourite and to see if they will be interested in my music video's song.

Question 6 (How do you listen to music?)

This question is to supposed to say 'Where do you listen to music?' So we can find out how much (if they do) they spend on music. Paying subscriptions are used on iTunes, Spotify,

The majority of my audience listen to their music either on YouTube or Spotify, which is interesting. Not far behind is iTunes, Spotify and iTunes (or Apple Music) are paid subscription each month.

Question 7 (Favourite type of music video)

This is to find out what type of music video is the audience's favourite, this will help me choose what kind of music video I should apply to my song, and what they will enjoy most.

The majority of my audience want a narrative video, my song is about an important story about a relationship. As most of my audience want a narrative video, I will follow a storyline in my music video.

I then added a button so people could listen to my song, so they could answer some questions about the song/music video

Question 8 (What clothing?)

As most of my audience is teenagers, I had to get an idea of what clothing my main protagonist is going to wear, what would fit the song, and what they would imagine the subject wearing?

This question was to find out what types of clothing my main protagonist should be wearing, this way she can relate more to song and video and not look odd.

From this idea I got that most of the audience, wants her to wear casual like clothing, I can agree to this. Also I like the idea of an oversized jumper and skinny jeans, it shows her emotion in the scene

This question was asked to find out where my target audience would prefer the indie pop music video taken.

The majority of my audience would prefer to see my music video in the evening. Some scenes from the video can be shot in the evening to portray some feelings, however a lot of the scenes will be shot during the day as the video is set outside.

37% of the audience voted 2 on the 1-5 question, from this I will not include a lot of lyrics in the video, but I will still include some. The lyrics will mostly be shown by visuals, but the 3rd comment is very helpful, I will only include lyrics if it fits with the scene, for example I will fit them in if the characters hold up a piece of paper, or move something out the way so the lyrics can fit in the middle.

To conclude the data I had received from my target audience questionnaire. My music video ideas have changed a bit looking at the comments, I will stick to what the audience wants most, and it is them watching it. Comparing it to demographics, my target audience falls under the category of E, as most of my audience are students and are unemployed.
