This is my focus group for my A2 Music Video

This is the first sheet I gave to the focus group, its the lyrics to the song I am doing. I gave this to them to read while listening to the song, and think of the first thing the lyrics remind them of.
Focus Group Analysis
First I asked my focus group audience to listen to my song, and analysis the lyrics in front of them.
I asked them, 'What kind of music video can you imagine, when you listen and read the lyrics'
Tommy answered saying 'It reminds me of flashbacks to the past' this is exactly what the song is based on, it is about losing a friend or loved one and they are trying to think of the positive memories out of it.
I next asked, 'Because my video is a narrative where the music video follows a story line, Do you think my music video should have more scenes of just the female protagonist on her own showing her emotions on and in the scene, or have scenes with just lyrics in?'
Charlie responded by saying 'I think it should have flashbacks, and I think it should have some scenes with just lyrics floating in the background, but make it a mixture, don't use too much of one them elements' this helps me a lot, now I know my target audience on my questionnaire don't want too much lyric scenes, and neither do the focus group audience. I will make sure I balance out the two elements and make sure if I do use lyrics, it does fit in with the scene.
I next asked, 'As you know, this music video is supposed be emotional, do you think it would be good to show this, in the morning, afternoon or evening or a mixture when you have the flashbacks'
Tommy responded by saying 'I think it should have a sunrise included' I will included a sunrise to show the times of day.
I next asked about the clothing in the music video (BELOW), for the clothing I decided to avoid the typical indie genre clothing, as it very strict and bright. I wanted something more laid back and easy, to show what the protagonist is like.
They all agreed with picking the set 2 clothing, as it goes well with how the song is.
My final question was 'Should my protagonist show her vulnerability in the video, should she show how sad she is, or how happy she is looking back in the memories?'
Charlie responded by saying, 'She should act sad at the start, and as she thinks of more and more memories she gets happier and more confident' Tommy agreed too.
Overall I got a few new ideas on how to portray emotion in the music video, and how to make it better when I go to film it. I will use the flashbacks idea to show what she feels about them in the scene, and to tell a story on how her friend passes away, and you will see that the friend has died by the end. Where it will be revealed by her going to a graveyard.
